PUMP SERVICE TESTING

DO YOU DO YOUR ANNUAL PUMP SERVICE TESTING?

YOU SHOULD! You need to know if your pump is really ready to perform.

All too often, departments facing ever tighter budgets do not adequately conduct annual service testing of their fire pumps. This testing is often overlooked despite NFPA & ISO standards which recognize the importance of independent pump service testing. Why test? Your fire pump is expected to perform at its rated capacity. After all, isn’t that why you bought it? That ability is needed to handle the less common situation of a larger fire. Without warning, lives and property are in peril and your fire pump must perform. The pump service test is an indicator that the department and pump are ready to deliver as expected. It also helps to determine the condition of the pump and may provide advance warning that pump repairs will be necessary.

For as long as fire pumps have existed, the testing methodologies have been the same…until now!  FDSS & FDTS has brought modern technology to pump service testing.

Our cost effective pump service testing technology makes compliance with NFPA 1911 a breeze!

READ WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS HAVE TO SAY...

“I have been sending my pumps off to be tested by an apparatus repair service. The cost of the pump test always seems to turn into over $1,200 dollars and I have no choice but let them repair it.”

“We had a fire right after a test and the pump did not work correctly. How do I know the testing company did the full test if the apparatus is 30 miles away from me?”

“I am glad to see there is something a little more technical than sticking a pitot tube into a stream of water to measure flow once in a while. Water flies everywhere; it seem archaically subjective. 100% flow monitoring is the way to go. “

“All I get is a Pass/ Fail. Nice for paper compliance, but that doesn’t tell me much.”

“I got a nice low bid for pump service testing. Then, I had to take trucks out of service for hours and call back extra personnel to the testing. With your system, I can do in-service pump testing without all the hidden costs to absorb.”

“The FDSS test was done right out in back of the station. When we had a simple problem, we could fix it. We simply switched out the truck. We repaired and re-tested the first one right away. No re-test charge! That saved us big time.”

“Tom worked with us, waiting for us to make a repair right there then restarted the test. It passed!”
